SAP mobile success through Sybase Acquisition

Bill McDermott, SAP Co-CEO announced today that Sybase is now officially a part of the SAP team. While they will continue to operate and maintain an individual brand, he feels this is a critical piece to providing SAP with competitive advantage in today’s mobile marketplace. It’s hard to argue with the logic that M-Tier applications is the wave of the future, with the statistics piling up for mobile device interaction by every type of user. But, is this acquisition on the heels of the BusinessObjects purchase too much too quick or just what the Dr. ordered? Only time will tell, but as SAP embarks on the battle for software dominance with Oracle’s Larry Ellison they have certainly made critical play’s have global effects. As an original partner of BusinessObjects, I am encouraged that Mr. McDermott ensured the crowed of 10,000 at Sapphire that they will listen to their Eco-System and allow these products to remain Open.

Our team has provided project management and development resources for an Oracle Fixed Assets project where all corporate subscriber and intangible assets were reclassified and consolidated into new asset categories with new declining balance depreciation methods. Responsible for the overall planning and management of the project as well as the day to day management of the project team. The project was successfully implemented on time and within budget with a seamless transition for the Finance business users.

We have continued our partnership by providing project management and business analyst resources for the implementation of a MarkView OCR solution integrated with Oracle Accounts Payable, existing MarkView AP invoice workflows, and Kofax recognition technology. Responsible for the overall planning, management, business analysis, functional design, testing, and day to day management of the project. The project was successfully implemented on time and within budget with a seamless transition and adoption by the AP business users.

To that end CCG has been a long time partner of Cox Communications to assist with the deployment of the Oracle Enterprise Suite throughout the organization. Our team has been responsible for technical design and development of conversion and interface programs, workflow customizations, custom Forms and Reports development and application extensions using custom PL/SQL libraries. Hillsborough County Public Schools

CCG was engaged by HCPS (8^th largest school district in the US) to select appropriate software and hardware, architect, design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive data warehouse and business intelligence system. This system was required to store information from all existing and future systems containing data including student/teacher demographics, student test scores, teacher certifications, school demographics, regional categories and more. Our implementation consisted of leveraging our end-to-end methodology to define requirements, design, develop, deploy and support a DW and BI solution on the SAP BusinessObjects platform. The final enterprise solution provided support to all business functions in the organization including business intelligence, reporting, ad hoc analysis, information distribution, formatted reports and more.

CCG was engaged as the technology partner to design and development a Business to Business trading exchange for Wavin, Europe’s largest manufacturer of synthetic pipes. Our team developed an asynchronous messaging architecture based on the Seeburger EAI package to integrate operating companies in 24 European countries. The solution utilized a middleware system to integrate multiple ERP systems with a Blue Martini e-CRM platform, using multiple transport protocols and message formats. Our team was responsible for designing and implementing the EAI messaging architecture, developing XML and DTD structures for the internal integration to the EAI package, developing Java based (J2EE) applications for integration, developing data mappings to numerous data formats including: EDI, CSV, Commerce One, SAP, and various in-house formats, integrating an online B2B portal to the site via SOAP XML Web Services, and establishing and maintaining the production and test architecture environment.

Our firm was engaged by the Republican Party of Florida to select appropriate software and hardware, architect, design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive data warehouse and business intelligence system. This system was required to store key information including voter demographics and profiling, fundraising data, election results and volunteer information. Our implementation consisted of the identification of user and regulatory requirements, selection of data warehouse/modeling and business intelligence software, architecture, design and development of the solution including integration to legacy source systems. In addition to the warehousing solution, CCG provided services to design and develop data entry applications for data not captured in a source system.
