Partner Bios
Brian Rimes – Vice President of Business Development
Brian is Convergence Consulting Group’s Director of Business Development, responsible for defining CCG’s strategy for sales, business development and growth in the marketplace. Promoting CCG’s core value — the customer comes first — is his primary focus. He dedicates himself to ensuring all CCG clients receive the highest level of attention and customer service. With a specialized knowledge of business intelligence (BI) solutions, Brian is also responsible for the identification and development of channel relationships aligned with CCG’s overall strategy. He brings nearly 15 years of experience, a passion, energy and drive to ensure our clients achieve sustained value through their partnership with CCG. Prior to his role in business development, Brian spent more than a decade in consulting, gaining a wealth of experience in all phases of technology engagements. During his years working in “Big 5” firms, he has served as a consultant, lead and manager of technology initiatives working with clients across various industries, both in the US and abroad. Brian attended Florida State University and completed his degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Central Florida.
Dan Rodriguez – Director, SAP Business Objects Practice
Dan is a Director with Convergence Consulting Group focusing on the delivery of SAP Business Objects solutions. Dan has extensive experience in business intelligence solutions including data warehouse design, performance management, information delivery and data governance. He has a proven track record of empowering his clients to achieve remarkable results by aligning strategy and execution between IT and various lines of business. He has a passion for helping business users transform their decision making by providing fact-based, quality information via self-service, mobile or traditional delivery mechanisms. He has global project experience spanning many industries including manufacturing, retail, public service, political, telecommunications and education. Dan is a graduate of Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Information Systems.
Chris Libby – Director, Microsoft BI Practice
Chris is the Practice Director for Convergence Consulting Group’s Microsoft business intelligence service line, responsible for the management, growth, and strategic direction of the CCG resources and Microsoft BI services. His team is committed to delivering well-planned, designed and implemented business intelligence solutions utilizing cutting-edge Microsoft and Microsoft-affiliated products. He has extensive experience designing and developing business intelligence and data warehousing solutions that implement the latest best practices and meet the needs and standards of his clients. He has more than 15 years of consulting experience spanning various services including business intelligence, data warehousing, systems integration, ERP implementations and custom software development for a variety of industries including services, manufacturing, healthcare, retail and non-profit. Chris graduated with honors from Florida State University, earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Accounting and a Master’s degree in Accounting Information Systems.
Dan Phelps – Director, EIM Practice
Dan is Director of Convergence Consulting Group’s Enterprise Information Management (EIM) practice. He has extensive experience in data management solutions including data warehouse design, data integration, data governance and master data management. He provides thought leadership in defining standards and best practices for information management, helping customers turn their silos of disparate data into strategic enterprise information assets. He also heads the company’s Oracle channel relationship to develop and grow CCG’s expertise in Oracle BI solutions and to find ways to consistently deliver innovative solutions that bring rapid ROI.
Dan has a passion for helping clients realize the benefits of well-architected data warehouse and business intelligence solutions. He is deeply committed to ensuring projects are delivered successfully and helping our clients continuously move further along the BI maturity curve. His project experience includes domestic and international engagements across multiple industries including manufacturing, telecommunications, public services, retail and financial services. Dan is a graduate of the University of South Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.
Sam Powell – Managing Director
Sam is Convergence Consulting Group’s Managing Director, responsible for setting CCG’s strategic direction and ensuring sustainable, long-term growth of the firm. He actively oversees all areas of the company’s operations including recruiting, business development and internal operations. Sam is a proud veteran of the United States Army and brings a passionate and disciplined leadership style that helps to inspire and motivate the CCG team to excel in all areas of the firm. Under Sam’s leadership, CCG has achieved more than 30% growth annually despite challenging economic conditions. He has more than 15 years of business consulting and leadership experience, including several years in “Big 5” firms working in various professional services roles including business consultant, solution architect, project manager and practice leader. Sam effectively leverages this experience to ensure CCG’s internal operations, professional development and client delivery set the standard in the professional services industry. Sam attended Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems with magna cum laude honors.
